Engagement Overview

Arganteal is seeking experienced Migration Support Engineers to provide onsite execution, validation, and issue-resolution support for a multi-site user and device migration at locations in Chesapeake, Virginia. Each engagement is one (1) week onsite per site.
Selected engineers will be onboarded and brought up to speed by the engineers managing the broader project, ensuring consistency in tooling, process, and escalation paths. You will be an on-the-ground execution resource: validating that workstations land cleanly in the target Active Directory and Microsoft 365 tenant and troubleshooting Quest Desktop Update Agent (DUA) issues during scheduled cutovers.

Key Responsibilities

Migration Oversight and Execution
  • Provide onsite presence during scheduled wave cutovers, working systematically through designated areas as users come online in the target environment.
  • Coordinate sequencing and timing of onsite activities with the remote migration consultant executing centralized ODM cutover tasks.
  • Confirm that the Quest Desktop Update Agent (DUA) is installed, healthy, and progressing on each in-scope workstation; remediate stalled or failed agents.
Validation and Quality Assurance
  • Validate that workstations are successfully migrated and joined to the target Active Directory and Microsoft 365 tenant.
  • Confirm post-migration functionality: domain membership, GPO/Intune policy application, sign-in, mail flow, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint access.
  • Perform spot checks and functional validation to ensure migration integrity
End-User Support and Issue Resolution
  • Assist users experiencing login issues or access problems following migration to the new tenant.
  • Troubleshoot ODM and DUA issues; escalate to the remote migration consultant where centralized action is required.
  • Provide real-time support to minimize user downtime during migration events.
Communication and Coordination
  • Serve as an onsite point of contact during migration activities; identify, document, and escalate issues promptly.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication regarding migration status, risks, and blockers.
  • Coordinate with local site contacts as needed to ensure smooth execution.
Reporting and Documentation
  • Report daily progress, issues, and resolutions to the migration lead.
  • Track migration status and provide feedback on readiness and completion.
  • Ensure issues are clearly documented and handed off appropriately.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience supporting end-user computing migrations, workstation refreshes, or domain / tenant transitions.
  • Strong working knowledge of Active Directory and Windows workstation environments.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting user login, profile, and access issues.
  • Working familiarity with Microsoft 365 services from a troubleshooting perspective – Exchange Online, Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint, and Intune-managed devices.
  • Familiarity with Quest On Demand Migration (ODM) and the Desktop Update Agent (DUA), or comparable migration tooling, is strongly preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work calmly during live cutovers.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a remote technical team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting multi-site or geographically distributed migrations.
  • Experience working across varied site environments including warehouse, distribution center, or office settings.
  • Exposure to Okta, hybrid Exchange, PKI, or domain rewrite scenarios.
  • Ability to work independently and manage onsite priorities with minimal supervision.

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced, execution-focused environment with real-time user interaction during wave cutovers.
  • Close collaboration with the engineers leading the broader migration project (who will provide onboarding and ongoing guidance), a remote migration consultant, and project leadership.
